One of the greatest opportunities I’ve had was attending Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts. Tabor Academy Summer Program (TASP) is a camp on a high school campus on the shore. My dad is constantly talking about activities that everyone is capable of doing. For example: swimming, running, hiking, and skiing. He says that during these activities you will always be at your limit, no matter your age, level, or experience. If you think about it, when you’re going down any slope you can control your speed and the width of your turns. This allows you to go however fast you want down the trail, never going faster than you’re comfortable with. ELHS sees generally smaller crowds at girls’ athletic events over boys’

The royal blue floor rumbles beneath the spectators and players as they anticipate the tip off of what is said to be the game of the year: East Lyme boys’ basketball vs. Waterford. A sea of black arms the East Lyme end of the “X,” while a solid blue wall of Waterford students face the opposite. The rivals’ faceoff received a crowd of 1500 (TheDay.com).
It is incredible that our school comes together as a student body in order to support each other, however this same amount of support is not even close when it comes to the girls sports teams at ELHS. This winter, the 2018 Olympics is taking place in PyeongChang, South Korea. The opening ceremony started on February 9, 2018 and will conclude on February 23, 2018. There are four new events in this year’s Olympics: Long-Track Speedskating, Curling – Mixed Double, Alpine Skiing, and Big Air Snowboarding.
Sra. Lorince takes her Spanish 3H, and 3A classes to the Regional Multicultural Magnet School (RMMS). The group of students were divided up into one kindergarten and one first grade bilingual class. The ELHS students read short story books in Spanish that they made and drew themselves. After that, all of the students shared time for lunch, followed by RMMS students reading their specified level reading book to the high school students. Continue reading Sra.
