In the colorful crowd of a thousand maroon and white students, some unfamiliar faces will be seen next week. Alum of 50 years will be joining the school to celebrate Spirit Week and the East Lyme student community. They will attend the maroon and white assembly and other components of Spirit Week.
“I’m just really excited to see the decades and the generations that have come through this school, see how it’s changed, see how it’s the same. Glad to see everyone back,” said Aaron. Maddux, history teacher and 2012 graduate.
Principal Michael Susi wants to create a welcoming environment where different generations and groups of people can get to know each other and appreciate different perspectives of spirit week.
“If you are an East Lyme Viking, you will always be an East Lyme Viking. Having people come back and share what they are doing and talk about their experiences will be very cool. The benefits will be outstanding,” said Principal Michael Susi.
