North Korea’s Cheerleaders
North Korean cheerleaders are unlike anything we have ever seen at the Olympics in the past. In matching red suits, 229 women sang songs and performed routines, surprising and entertaining the world-wide audience. They drew attention everywhere they went and positioned themselves around every arena to make their presence known at each event.
Chloe Kim’s ‘Hangry’ tweets
In between 17- year -old Chloe Kim’s Olympic halfpipe runs she sent out a tweet:
“Wish I finished my breakfast sandwich but my stubborn self decided not to and now I’m getting hangry.”
Soon after she tweeted, Kim won gold in Women’s Halfpipe. It wasn’t long after her “hangry” incident that companies began to offer her food supplies.

“The Shirtless Togan” returns and made an appearance at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Pita Taufatofua appeared shirtless in both the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics, making sure his memory would live on despite his Olympic placement. Taufatofua came in 114 out of 118 skiers, pretty impressive considering he only learned to ski three months prior.
