Some of the best features on this Christmas experience

Is it the Essex Steam Train or a magical ride on the Polar Express? Families of all ages enjoy this holiday experience bringing to life the Polar Express ride, first made famous by author Chris Van Allsburg and later in the classic Christmas movie.
Walking onto the train last year quickly brought back childhood memories. My younger cousins, Ava (7) and Wes (4) agreed that their favorite part was “seeing Santa and the elves when they gave out cookies and hot chocolate.” Expressions of joy and wonder on the children’s faces made me feel like I was 5 all over again.
Gabrielle Russell of Waterford worked as an elf and shared her experience of delivering cookies and hot chocolate. The best feature is, “getting to see people that have traveled from out of state just so their kids could talk to Santa and see the North Pole. The job really makes you feel like a kid again,” said Russell.
In addition, she loved having the unique Christmas experience. “I liked how it made me feel excited to go to work and put me in a better mood,” said Russell.
This event is happening now through Dec. 29, and starts at a few different times shown on essexsteamtrain.com. The prices range from $35 for an adult and higher for first class.
